About the Author
Kathy Weitz is a lifelong Virginian and a lifetime learner. Over the past twenty years, as she and her husband Rick have educated their six children at home, she has pursued a classical education for herself as well. In addition to her own children, she has taught a number of other students, both online and in the classroom. Kathy delights in guiding students in the art of composition and inspiring them to love all aspects of the English language - especially the beauty and humanity found in poetry and literature, and the logic and order revealed by the analysis and diagramming of well-written sentences.
As the Lord grants years, she looks forward to the continued pursuit of a life well-read. She particularly relishes the thought of sharing her love of books with her grandchildren. The desire of Kathy's heart is truly to glorify and enjoy her Lord and Savior in her church, in her family, and in her writing. Among her chief pleasures are homemaking and hospitality.
Kathy is the Director of Curriculum Development at Providence Prep, a classical liberal arts co-op in Purcellville, VA, where she also teaches high school Great Books and English Studies classes. She blogs at The Reading Mother, and is a certified Scholé Groups Mentor and Consultant.
